QUALITY KNOWS NO COMPROMISE was the asset Lys learnt of her father which is a very mature Warmblood breeder for now more than 50 years. He started to breed for farming, and bought 1968 his first sport horse broodmare by Ramzes AA (founder of important breeding lines in Holststein and Westfalen). It was in 1989, the licensing of Donnerhall in Oldenburg, he was so convinced of this young Stallion, that he organized the transport of his broodmare to Oldenburg (700km). He didn’t hear anything for 3 long days till eventually she was safely back home and pregnant. In 1990 he was the first proud owner of a Donnerhall foal in Switzerland.

 

My father is still my best teacher; he does have an unbelievable feeling for Stallions which are the best fit to our well bred warmblood broodmares and an amazing know how about breeding lines.

 

Prior to moving to Australia, Lys owned a successful Marketing and Event company in Switzerland. Together with her father she ran a horse breeding stud in Switzerland and was managing the annual Swiss Elite Foal Auction from 2000-2005. Lys has also held executive committee positions with the Swiss Breeding Federation.
